Part of the benefit of basing your horse on a professional yard is the support that we can offer.

We recognise that not all liveries have access to the kind of transport needed to get around

the country to some of the venues we compete at, so we are more than happy to take their

horses out with us in our purpose built 5 horse lorry.

This gives students the opportunity to continue competing while at livery during term time at Oxford University, Oxford Brookes or Abingdon & Witney College.

For any eventing student that wants to compete while they are based at Aston Stud, we can

ensure their horses are fit and prepared for the event season by coming with us to any of the cross

country schooling, gallops, or show jump venues we use. Aston Stud is a professional event yard,

so your horse can be included with our routine and competition schedule.

British Eventing:

We travel to most BE events in Southern and Central England, as well as FEI events in

We use BS venues to compete and train our event horses:

  • Weston Lawns

  • Summerhouse

  • Rectory Farm

  • Addington

  • Cherwell

Some of the cross-country venues that we regularly go to include:

  • Boomerang

  • Aston Le Walls

  • Lyneham Heath

When we're not eventing we also visit the following venues for dressage competitions:

  • Hunters Equestrian

  • Addington

All veterinary issues and routine veterinary management can be taken care of by Aston Stud in a timely and professional manner. We have used Bourton Vale Equine Clinic for many years and they know us and our horses very well. Tom Campbell is always on hand should we need him and Natasha Seely does all of our dental work on the yard.

We can organise and supervise all farrier visits for you. We have three approved farriers who visit the yard regularly, Sam Phelps, Fred Cox and Hannes Snyman.

Leigh Miller is a registered human and animal McTimoney Chiropractor and is the New Zealand Eventing team physio. She is based in the Cotswolds and our horses enjoy regular treatments

from her throughout the year.

Saddle Fitting

Our competition horses use Butet saddles from Annika Sederholm at Sederholm Selected and she

is more than happy to visit Aston Stud for livery clients. For any other makes of new or used saddles and adjustments to existing tack, we highly recommend "The Saddle Doctor" company which is based in Oxford.

Aston Stud feeds exclusively Spillers horse feeds. As a Spillers supported rider, we have access to nutritional advice from the team at MARS Horsecare UK and can easily arrange a personal consultation for your horse.
